The cultural influence on me of growing up in Nigeria has fuelled a lifelong, borderline pathological desire in me to join the dots. All my favourite things are based on connection.

Travel is the connection of one place to another. Culture is a union of creative elements that adds up to something more than the simple sum of its parts. And history provides a narrative to connect those places via a timeline that can only be accessed through the words of others.

Above all these ways of connecting, be it song, dance or making love, are the words we use to describe and tell each other about it all. You see the thing, above all else, that makes us human are our words and the stories we fashion around them. We tell stories about who we are and we are the product of the stories we tell. We are our stories and they are what connect us all.
