Volunteering and Employment

Since being a Listen Up! Community reporter is an volunteer role,  this month we have documented  what it’s like to volunteer on a day to day basis either within Groundswell or elsewhere. We wanted to shine a light on all the wonderful and essential work that volunteers do!

Miles’ Photo:

running on empty…but still time to make a difference!

Morshed’s Photo:

Morshed in dancing mood with holding his just released / published new book in hand.

‘Hear Our Stories’ was published in collaboration with Together in The UK, and Victoria Press last year.

Tess’ Photo:

I spend my Saturday’s volunteering at a charity shop. This is where we sort our bric-a-brac and books, and is the part of the shop which makes me happiest (and most frustrated). This sight is typical of what the room looks like

Morshed’s Photos:

Snaps from Listen Up’s June reporter meeting where we attended a story telling workshop with Manchester Street Poem. To see more photos and learn about our experience, click here

Hi I'm Tess, I work for Groundswell and have a long history of mental illness. During a particularly bad patch I sofa surfed for a while. I have a very opinionated cat and live near Manchester, although I'm formerly from Stoke-on-Trent.
