Intro

Early on this year Charlie wrote a report entitled ‘Spreading yourself too thin.’  At the time his effort to do more was resulting in him doing less, as he was saying yes to every organisation that asked for his help. His abundance of selflessness and a rare emotional intelligence combined with a highly developed skillset mean that Charlie is in demand. But as he points out, there comes a point where he becomes less effective  when he takes on too much. And so for once Charlie took his own advice. Not to protect himself but to make sure that he can do his best for the people he is there for.  Mat Amp [Project Officer]

Charlie’s report:

After doing the report,’Spreading yourself too thin’ I took a step back from the organisation and it has refreshed me and my mind. I’m not just thinking things through in my mind, I’m actually doing them. I’m feeling no pressure to produce, I feel back in control. It’s so easy to get sucked in to doing lots of bits, for lots of different organisations, well it’s free, who doesn’t like something that’s free, but organisation should also look out for us as well. Strange and unusual that I’m  actually doing something I preach for once.
