What do I think about the transition from full restrictions to living with COVID-19 guidelines, and I’ll try to sum it up with one word – awkward!
I’m free to live my life my way now, yet that’s dangerous territory for the selfish side of my thinking.
I can wake up tomorrow, sniffling, tired and go spreading the germs, yet what are they spreading? – an old fashioned cold, like I know, which often gave me an excuse to phone into work, which might put pressure on my work colleagues covering my shift – OR I go to work, unbeknown, crippling the entire workforce, with one sneeze, touch, and still feeling naff.
Get a test, they shout, be considerate of others and it’s for the good of society you test…. so, I dutifully pop to the chemist, empty my already threadbare pockets with the leccy money, pay up, and skip home and wait for one clean line…… hoping!
It’s negative, great, yet now I have no money for leccy, it’s jumper time!
At least I protected society, if not my body and soul, ah well. Another false sense of achievement.
