Today I received an update from the landlord telling me that the council have accepted the property and I now need to fill out a form so it can be sent off for reference checks. To be honest I’m not all that excited as I feel triggered when I hear the term reference checks. I’ve also been stalling and distracting myself with what is going on in Israel and Palestine.

My credit rating is a mess and it’s all my fault which I accept and take accountability for. Spending money I didn’t have on nights out, taking out contracts and not paying them as well as doing direct debits I ended up not being able to afford to pay off consistently due to changing jobs every minute.

I learned the hard way through losing my council home that change was needed. Another issue I face is I still have none of my belongings and my passport or work contract which are in the property I have just been evicted from.

I just hope I am able to get a copy of my passport either through the bank, Universal credit or the council. I will have to email for my work contract. I will be so heartbroken if I lose the room because I don’t have access to these.

I was going to do the form this evening. It’s on a PDF file so I Installed word in order to edit it and save another copy. But I soon discovered that I can’t edit it in any format which means I have to go out tomorrow to print out the form and send it to the landlord through a scanner, which will cost me money I don’t really have.

The main thing is I’m at this stage with no support.

I don’t know why landlords don’t like using online versions of reference forms or tenancy agreements. It wastes time in my opinion having to print them out plus send over all of the documents for the reference checks. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes smoothly and I pass the checks so I can have some stability moving forwards.

  1. Gosh Andrea
You HAVE been through the churner, haven’t you?
    I feel for you.

Corporate smoke and mirrors … squeezing money (thin on the ground) out of financially vulnerables…
I equate it to, squeezing the bovine udders…oh, one last squeeze, we need a touch more milk here.

    take care.
