This report reflects on what Karen has done for Listen Up! and what they have gained from this

First I was afraid, I was petrified

I wondered if the team would want me on their side

I spent so many sleepless nights thinking if I’d get it wrong

And wondered if the lot of us would ever get along

 

And then we met

Face to face

Came up with ideas

And how we’d put them into place

We tried to change those stupid rules

And make them hear our desperate plea

Wrote tons of great reports for everyone to see

 

Go on now go, and write some stuff

About life’s problems and how it can be tough

Let’s bring homelessness to light

Let’s unite and fight the fight

We will survive, we will survive

 

And now I’m sad because we’re through

Our time is over, and I know that I’ll miss you

I’ve made great friends along the way

And learned so much I have to say

We will survive

 

So when we meet, for the last time

We’ll reminisce and I know that I will cry

I’ve had a fabulous three years but I promise no more tears

We will survive, we will survive

 

Go on now go, walk out the door

Cos Listen Up! isn’t trading anymore

It’s time for us to go our own way

And find another place

Where we can have our say

We will survive, we will survive

 

The three-year Listen Up! project will be completed in September 2024. We are proud of what we have achieved and look forward to seeing what comes next at Groundswell and On Our Radar and for the community reporters.
