Hi my name is Lee, I’m just gonna give you a quick talk about my experience during Covid-19 waiting for an operation, a heart operation actually.

In July I was really unwell and had to call emergency services out, ended up in hospital, was in there a week, no visitors, found that really hard. So many tests, was a bit worried like you know.

And then eventually I found out I needed heart surgery, so I was discharged after just over a week.  Time was passing and I obviously can’t see any consultants, still a phone call every now and again, me chasing them more them getting in touch with me. And when they did get in touch they were saying that, yes, this is an important operation.

This has just been going on and on and I wasn’t hearing anything.  One consultant after another, from different hospitals, no information was being shared between them. So again I was so confused, getting down, depressed, worried.

And then eventually again me chasing, so we’re now into January – I still hadn’t heard anything so again I had to chase it all up. Spoke again to the consultant regarding a few blackouts that I’d been experiencing, and I am currently now in hospital waiting for this operation, which should have been carried out three days ago… but that was cancelled so I’m still waiting.

And I shall keep you updated. It’s long enough though in hospital, it’s absolutely painful.

So, all the best to everybody, I’ll say goodbye.
