What do you think when someone says that they free, what do you think when people say they hitting the road?

As someone who knows what its like to have depression and find it hard sometimes I can personally speak of being free. Back in March 2022 I passed my CBT to start riding a motorbike and understand that this is big thing for myself with others who have depression.

Just think getting ready to go out, getting your bike ready to ride, sitting on it, feeling that vibrations of joy, it makes you think so much to get your mind out of the sky, and just be free to go wherever, whenever. Seeing people using the road same has you, being part of the unknown community who always nods to you to say hi, that feeling that you have your fellow riders there if anything happens, like having a family, the unknown family of riders,

Smiling at every moment, that place where you can feel free, just to be you, and no one from the community is judging you, they just there behind you without knowing. You come of your bike, you can be ensured that a rider will stop and help, turning the corners and turns, leaning to get round them, that feeling of things passing you, smiling at every moment you got, enjoying yourself.

Within the biking community, the unknown community, everyone is welcome. You may be asking what I am on about with the unknown community thing, well here it is. Do you know the other rider who has just passed you on the road. Have you spoken to them? Do you know their name? We don’t. We don’t know if there are lawyers, police, doctors, nurses, someone on benefits, managers, business owners.. This is what I mean by the unknown community, ride outs and meet ups. Nobody cares what you do for living, how much money you have, everyone is welcome, with being trans having depression, I can truly say that I have become part of that community part of that feeling you get, that we are all there, in the moment, for each other.

It is the feeling that you are not alone in the big bad world. It feels like that in addition to  my partner and their family, plus my own family, I also my biking family who will always makes sure that I am safe.

Sitting at home hearing the bike ride pass, that joy that smile coming back in my live that happiness it gives. The gift that keeps gifting.

Ride safe be safe, ride on.
