Everybody In, that should now be renamed to ‘the government don’t care’.
During the first lockdown in March, I thought that the government was doing an amazing job by introducing the Everybody In campaign. Bringing rough sleepers off the streets to protect them from Covid-19.
Hotels, hostels, and – for some councils – even housing accommodation being offered.
Fantastic I thought, thumbs up to the government.
Well, what’s gone so wrong this time round, as yet again we find the UK in lockdown again.
Stay at home orders given by the government. Keep safe, travel only when it’s really needed.
All good instructions, but not if you are homeless and vulnerable.
Why? Again I ask WHY, has the government chosen NOT to again bring back the Everybody In campaign. Why?
Is the Covid-19 virus capable of leaving all those people whom are homeless and vulnerable alone? NO, even a child knows this.
The Covid-19 virus is not going away for a good while yet. Homeless people need to be protected and treated with the respect and support, every human being deserves.
Bring back the Everybody In campaign now.
