Country Before Party – A Question?

So, this week’s parliamentary vote on the two-child limit on benefits resulted in seven, yep, seven, Labour MP’s being barred from acting for their constituents by having their whips suspended for six months.

Is this the new slogan party before constituents because that’s what it appears to be for Joe Public waking up tomorrow, never mind those families struggling to make ends meet!

I’m sure we can all remember the furore when the £20 COVID uplift was withdrawn and the official opposition rage at the government in place at the time.

I’m not a politician, nor of a particular political persuasion, yet I do believe in writing about unfairness and exclusion… and that’s exactly what this is…

Anyway, the quarter of a million children will continue to live in poverty which is very compassionate knowing the ruling party suspends its local MPs if they dare to think differently!

Hey ho, honeymoon blues are approaching.
