I welcome the government news on cutting back on paying for private consultations, commissioned reports, steering groups etc – the numbers available publicly are eye wateringly staggering 🤑
There are better ways to understand what the country really needs delivering to make changes… it’s simply called COMMUNITY, but it shouldn’t be free!
Reduce costs by employing localised community infrastructure, led by community leaders or voices, they have on the ground intelligence government don’t or aren’t trusted with.
For instance, at Listen Up, we have the eyes, ears and pens of said communities. We can find those alternatives, perspectives, solutions that professional consultancies have been paid so handsomely for.
We have trusted connections, relationships cos we live amongst them, we’re not fancy, but effective.
Honesty drives what we write, not fancy buzz words, or clever supposition. Truths speak volumes in making change happen.
The true voices you seek are in abundance, use community to find them… not once ‘we’ve assessed and get back to you’… implement it NOW!
Every day you delay, it becomes further away and more expensive to change.
